Title Sharing
Characters Steve and Bucky
Rating G
Word Count 272
Notes A quick ficlet about a shared moment between Steve and Bucky. NOt all Christmas memories are happy ones. (I'd glare more at you Brubaker but at least you acknowledged they should have been at the Bulge not in London at a Christmas party, but what the hell good story, and I do agree, good story so what the hell).

If Steve thought Bucky had gone a overboard with the decorations he'd bought, Steve didn't say anything. He remembered his first Christmas in the new era -not the first year, but the first year he could enjoy it- and understood. That and Steve wasn't exactly conservative when it came to decorations either.

"Why all the blue and silver?" Steve asked, glancing at the garlands or ornaments in the plastic bag he was carrying.

Bucky shrugged, "I like it, what's it to you Mr. Rogers?"

Steve couldn't help but grin at the old nickname. "Nothing, just curious." That ended the conversation on Bucky's color choices for the rest of the trip through Macy's. However as Bucky's wrapped his arms around Steve's waist, finding a secure hold to keep him on the back of the motorcycle, Bucky cleared his throat.

"It's because I don't like the red. Not with all the snow, anyway.

"Hrmm?" Steve asked, pausing in his motion to turn on the ignition.

"I get blue and silver becauseā€¦ because the red, especially the red and white reminds me of," He paused and took a breath. "There was just a lot of killing in the snow, Steve,"Bucky mumbled, his voice trailing off.

Steve moved his hand up to rest against Bucky's feeling the warmth of Bucky's hand even through the fleece. "You didn't need to-"

"Explain I know," Bucky said, his voice muffled by a helmet, "But I wanted you to know."

Steve nodded as he squeezed Bucky's hand. Then he let go and started the motorcycle so they could get some cider on the stove before Natasha or Sharon got home.

Christmas Fanart!

Title Heading Home
rating: G
Characters Toro Raymond/Ann Raymond
Notes I adore this little-known pairing as much as I like Bucky/Toro. I wish Marvel had used Ann more in the New Invaders comics and dealt with her relationship with Toro and Jim (and knowing Namor of Spitfire). Anyway, happiness before Toro got brainwashed and killed and then resurrected 30 some odd years later.

Merry Christmas!

Warnings This fic contains descriptions of a severe PTSD reaction. Contents may be triggering to some people, reader discretion is advised.
Notes First this is a very personal fic for a lot of reasons second, this is set pre-1962, and I did my PTSD research with that in mind, though there isn't much medical at all in this fic. Oh and for those who are not as obsessed with old comics, Ann Raymond is Toro's canon wife. They married in the WTF time of Marvel comics that exists to screw up modern continuity, but I go with late 50's early 60's.

Steve Rogers as Indiana Jones and Bucky Barnes a Marion Ravenwood... because it was fun! This was a quick sketch for a Halloween challenge, done with crayons. Crayons are more fun than I remembered!
Not thrilled about Steve's arm getting cut off, but I laid it out bad on the paper and there was no room :/

I sorta stole the concept from a George Barr piece also called "Cook Out", but it's self evident enough. Bucky wishes to have a hot hot dog. What Toro will likely give him is a charred one.

These were the free bookmarks I made for Free Comic Book day.
I also brought a hole punch and a bunch of ribbons in various colors and let the kids pick out two ribbon colors (or the same color) and put the ribbons on.

That was a fun idea, but ended up being utterly impractical when I was the only one at my table and had to draw AND punch holes and tie ribbons. Some parents took pity and did it themselves.

Interesting note: adults were far more likely to want the bookmarks without the ribbon, even when I wasn't too busy to add it.

Larger images are under here, as usual )

Batman btw was the most popular.
Spiderman, surprisingly, was the least. Kids wanted Batman or Ironman.
Ironman should savor this while it lasts.

Character Toro
Notes wanted to draw a companion Toro, really umm not much. I am very surprised the cool color scheme worked so well. I kinda think of this as the companion to he Bucky pick I did and I didn't want them both to be warm. Wasn't sure cool would work for Toro, but it did.

Notes A quick watercolor sketch of Bucky done during my work breaks. I enjoyed painting this and think it came out rather well for what it is.
